Parallel Capacitor Calculator
This tool calculates the total capacitance when multiple capacitors are connected in parallel. Unlike series connections, parallel capacitors combine their surface areas, resulting in a simple additive total.
Use this tool to:
- Increase energy storage by combining multiple capacitors to meet a target value for power supply decoupling or bulk storage.
- Understand ESR reduction, as placing capacitors in parallel reduces the overall Equivalent Series Resistance, which is vital for high-frequency filtering.
- Determine total charge capability, as parallel networks can hold more total energy at the same voltage level compared to single components.
