Series Capacitor Calculator

This tool helps you determine the total capacitance of multiple capacitors connected in a series string. While resistors in series add up, capacitors in series follow the reciprocal rule, effectively reducing the total storage capacity.

Use this tool to:

• Calculate the total capacitance for high-voltage strings where individual capacitors are placed in series to divide the voltage stress.
• Normalize component values when the specific capacitance you need is unavailable, but you have larger values on hand to combine.
